I've been working on the website for the WFSA - the World Freestyle Skateboarding Association - for the best part of a year.
It has become very apparent that next to no one knows what #RSS is these days (or realises that it still exists), and I think that needs to change - so this is now on the sidebar for every article on the site.
RSS is the most useful tool possible for getting away from the "siloification" of the internet. It needs to be more widely used!

A few days ago, @florianziegler suggested that all of us running blogs with RSS feeds make a small change:
Please add your email address to your RSS feed.
Add Your Email Address to Your RSS Feed
This email address can be used by RSS feed readers to display an Email button next to each feed entry, so folks can reply to the post via email instead of visiting the post on your site to leave a comment.
That seems like a good idea. I found that there was no WordPress plugin that allowed that out of the box, so I built my own. If you’re a blogger and use WordPress, give it a try!

Next step will be for more feed readers to support that issue. I consequently opened an issue for my feed reader of choice, NetNewsWire, to support this. If you use a different feed reader, don’t hesitate to contact them about it!

I've had my #podcasts' #RSS feeds with Blubrry PowerPress since I started #podcasting. But I'm considering moving The Audacity to Podcast's feed to a #podcast-hosting provider to fully optimize the in-app data beyond what PowerPress lets me do.
This might be my biggest tech change since starting!
Just added @brewsterkahle's #RSS feed to @thunderbird since he does not have an email subscription to his blog posts. Easy solved.
For several years my work flow has been to have feeds in Feedly and save articles to Pocket to read later.
With @mozilla killing Pocket, I'm wondering if @wallabag would actually serve as a replacement for both.
I'd be curious to hear any comments or experiences from folks. I'll be trying it out this week regardless, but I'd still love any tips given what my work flow has been.

Wonder if anybody else has noticed this. I'm seeing an increasing number of bloggers and website owners deliberately breaking their RSS feeds. It's increasingly becoming a problem for me. Most say they are doing it because they want me to sign up to their newsletter, and because they wanna sabotage AI, and, well, only rebuke I have to that, for now, is, A broken RSS feed will never stop so called #AI from sucking up your website. I'd advise you to learn how LLM's work instead of assuming how you think they work. Humans still use RSS, partially because I, for one, want my email inbox clean.
