Living #BlackHistory. I’m working on a #documentary about my mentor, retired Syracuse Univ Professor and master potter #DavidMacDonald. Was very surprised to learn that many #HBCUs had #ceramics programs, most of which are now defunct. David attended Hampton U and had an African American ceramics professor, Joseph Gilliard. started a #wikipedia article on US pianist and music educator Jean Coston Maloney (1916-1968); she was the first Black guest soloist to play a full concert with the New Orleans Symphony, and played for a non-segregated audience in New Orleans in 1953. One of her students was Ellis Marsalis.
