Hier unterstützen euch einige Reparatur Cafés oder Computerclubs und bieten spezielle "LinuxCafés" an.
Der Rechner kann somit noch über Jahre genutzt werden. Probiert es mal aus! Ganz nebenbei punktet das neue System auch in Sachen #Datenschutz.

Does anyone else notice that they get significantly more "Prove you're human" captcha requests when using Linux? Specifically Firefox on Debian (Trixie). Although I doubt the distribution has anything to do with it.
A few months back, I announced that I was leaving the @Vivaldi browser and going back to Firefox full time. The reasoning was that as a uBlock user, I was concerned that uBlock would stop working, at some point, with Vivaldi since it's Chromium based. Well, leaving Vivaldi was a mistake. I see that now. The folks at Mozilla are absolutely clueless as to what their users really want in a browser. They made the decision to end some services so they could focus on AI in Firefox, and this is only one issue of so many.
The small team at Vivaldi know and understand what users want in a browser and they are constantly building and adding these features all the time. Do I wish that Vivaldi was 100% Open Source? Of course! But I can look past this because the team at Vivaldi are awesome, the community is awesome, and they are building a browser that users want. It's really this simple. Oh, and with Vivaldi, Linux isn't a second-class citizen. For me, as a 30+ year user of Linux, this is hugely important. And for this reason, they deserve my support.

My Firefox addon got approved! It ensures i.imgur.com and i.reddit.com actually send you an image when visiting links instead of redirecting to a page with a bunch of proprietary javascript!

Librewolf is exactly what Firefox should be.
To the point where I find in #Librewolf new features I was explicitly missing in #firefox (like clicking on the lock to enable/disable cookies for a specific website)
And, yet, it works perfectly in #debian thanks to extrepo. But, seriously, it should be considered as the default Debian browser.

I like these new #firefox tab groups. Very useful for grouping default sets of sites you use at different times of the day.

On the other hand, a German article mentioned that in 2023, 495 million US-Dollar out of 653 million US-Dollar in total came from Google. This means that they still have 158 million US-Dollar without Google. Quite some money compared to other Free Software initiatives and even many company backed projects.
So there should be a sane ways to move on, right? Don't do anything against the monopoly can't be the solution.
