If you use an online cloud-based password manager (E.G., #LastPass, #1Password, #Bitwarden, #Dashlane, etc.) how concerned are you about supply chain attacks?

By me @Forbes: 1Password for Mac users warned that an access key stealing flaw has been found by red team hackers. Make sure your app updated Mac folks.

Wi-Fi QR codes are now out of beta and live for everyone in #1Password 8.

I'm really proud of how this came out because I spent several late nights implementing anti-aliased circle drawing algorithms to rasterize the (styled) QR codes to a bitmap that the front-ends could display.
I was disappointed when #1Password (one of my favourite #Mac apps) went subscription, #Electron and pivoted from personal to business users.
Now i get why they did it. Nobody except businesses will use standalone #password managers anymore.

1Password appears to be offline this morning. Not good timing given Apple’s recent announcements. But then there’s never good timing.
I have quit #1Password three times in as many minutes. Why the heck does it keep coming back?
It’s great that #Apple is doing it’s own #Passwords App, but, just like #1Password, I doubt one will be able to EXPORT any #Passkeys to take to a different Password Manager/Ecosystem like one can with Passwords. Just more lock-in.
Passkeys are basically Public and Private Keys right? Those should be able to be exported and moved. That data belongs to the User, not the Company or App one might use. This gets harder when Services like say Sony disable the Password/MFA when a Passkey is created.
Here’s another huge job opportunity. 1Password is looking for a VP of Security. This would be the senior-most security role at 1Password. It’ll require a combination of experience, confidence, and willingness to work with a team of people like me. This role is an enormous deal.
