@vfrmedia This is a shocking article(but not surprising), I really do believe that we’ve come along way to accepting that we’re all equal but we still have a lot to do ☮️
@CosmicBlaze the more worrying aspect is folk who bother to get tickets to a theatre these days (when there is cinema, telly, social media and so many other forms of entertainment) tend to be more affluent and better educated, its like at least some are deliberately doing this to prove a point..
@vfrmedia you’re right about the cost of theatre and concert tickets. The people doing these things must be attending the shows that offend them just to spout their views because the majority of audiences are there to enjoy the performances and support theatre and music , it’s like the article says they feel like they have a right to be abusive but thankfully they are still in the minority!
@CosmicBlaze also with "rave-type" music events (some friends still DJ and organise them) promoters are now expected to be prepared for everything from overdoses to sex assaults and acid attacks and to deploy appropriate numbers of security staff and work with the Police (even though they aren't fond of cops at all) - whereas until now theatres are seen as "more civilised spaces" and could be viewed as "soft targets"..
