Resolving issues, yes, but also chunks of story. I don't know how many words the next scene or chapter or event will take up, but I know when I'm done laying down the very basics of what I want to happen.

#ScribesAndMakers 18. Do you have multiple creative outlets? Are they distractions or do they work synergeristically?
Primarily, I do fiction for fun, but my job is already very creative and uses a lot of the same "muscles" in the brain (I'm an essay-writing prof).
They absolutely feed into each other, though. The biggest thing? Paragraphing. I swear to you, if you can really "get" essay paragraphing then fiction paragraphing is easy.

Nope. My day job covers me for money. Fiction is mine. I'm hesitant to even really get into selling it because it might upset the equilibrium of my life.
Of course, if someone *did* come knocking and wanted to pay me for it...
