This is a black and white street photo looking upwards at a statue of three people in landscape format. To the left of centre is large statue of a Chinese man surrounded by two shorter statues. The three statues are bold, angular and in a Sino-Soviet style. The larger man in the centre has his arm outstretched and raised slightly as if showing the direction. He is wearing a belted greatcoat, a ushanka with the sides pulled down over the ears and a flowing cape. Under his right arm he has a large book, perhaps the not so little 'Little Red Book'. On the right side is another Chinese man, again with the depicted in the same angular style. On the left side a young Chinese woman, this time with a more rounded face: with a large steel rod over her left shoulder and a length of coiled rope over the right shoulder. These three revolutionaries serve as an example, inspiration and stand guard outside the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall sometimes known as the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong in Tiananmen Square, Beijing (2012)
