North Point, 北角, Hong Kong

This is a colour street photo, without people, of an elevated dystopian cityscape scene in landscape format. In the lower left corner is a rusting overhead street sign with two Chinese characters in fading red paint against a white background. Running across the frame are numerous cables supporting the overhead cables for the street's trams. Stretching from the right margin and converging towards the centre is the drab front of a low-rise, about ten floors, mixed use building. The facade is a light salmon colour and is adorned with multiple external air conditioning units, colourful drying laundry and the occasional open window. Further down the street is a further similar building, taller but with a neater facade, painted white with horizontal purple stripes indicating each floor. At the end of our street is a cream coloured apartment block, its upper floors out of view and again with a tidier exterior, just the occasional visible exterior a/c unit.
