Robin Wall Kimmerer’s, “The Serviceberry”
As much economics as natural history, she links the gift economy with nature -storing abundance in the belly of my brother. She examines how capitalism is an unsustainable and destructive system and how it might be replaced.
It’s a beautiful book and very salient to our current economic-ecological problems.
Also a bear seemed to have broken a branch from one of the late flowering trees. The branch was broken 3 feet up and was torn downwards. It wasn’t a small branch, a little longer than 2 feet.
It’s against general wisdom that you can clone a branch after fruiting, but I thought I’d give it a shot anyway. I cut the branch into five segments and three of the five cuttings rooted.
YAY!!!
I used Clonex gel and place them in dirt with humidity lid over top on a warm mat with LED light.
