@mlanger if you go into it treating it as a comedy it's enjoyable.
@douglasvb One of the worst movies I ever saw was "Spaceballs." I know that a lot of people really liked it, including my wasband. I've come to suspect that I just didn't get it and I should probably try watching again. But I just can't bring myself to do it.
@mlanger that movie was a spoof of Star Wars and consumerism. I thought it was pretty funny and campy. Not as good as Blazing Saddles (another Mel Brooks movie) though.
@douglasvb Blazing Saddles was hysterical. I'm not sure if its widespread use of the N-word makes it acceptable these days. It certainly did not put down people of color; I think it put down people who had a problem with people of color.
I definitely remember Spaceballs being a spoof of Star Wars, but not the consumerism part. I guess I should give it another try.😬
