I'm watching #3DaysInMalay and it is not a good #ww2 movie so far.

The Japanese is dubbed in over another language.

Maybe it's supposed to be a comedy?

I think they got all the costumes at spirit Halloween.

I guess there's a religious element to this movie, too?

And it's a bit like a kung fu movie.

What's up with the one star keeping a helmet on in the office.

How am I only 30 minutes into this?!

Why are there so many American women at this beachhead in the Solomon Islands? What uniform is the one even wearing?!

Two old friends somewhere end up at the same place to cause drama around boxing?

Oh it was filmed at least partially in Thailand so I guess the "Japanese" troops are Thai and that would be why they dubbed in the Japanese.

The CGI is so incredibly bad 😂😂

The stock drone footage they got for aerial views of the jungle is all jerky

The night battle was filmed in day and night and they made no efforts to try to make it seem like it was the same time.

Hahaha what this has to be the most unrealistic battle scene ever.

But he was ambushed in the gun room

Oh good be can carry a two man machine gun and a lot of ammo on his own

These things aren't automatic

They have reused the same scene of Japanese troops charging several times

Oh good a break in the fighting so they all can get emotional

But there's still a half hour left of this somehow

How are these guys able to talk to each other in normal voices after using automatic machine guns for ten minutes?!

Now we're back to the two old dudes who are friends from back home arguing about stuff that doesn't matter

This dialog is horrible. The writers should feel bad.

I think the main character is also the director. Is this a passion project?! He needs a different passion because this isn't his thing.

Now they're crying about the one dude's dad dying years ago and being angry that the other one couldn't make the funeral

Now the jungle is on fire?

Now back to the base with the same 20 Japanese soldiers running around and a few American soldiers being legends.

Now we're on Day 2?!

They're on opposite sides of a small stream and it's like they can't see each other 😂

The watch the one guy is wearing is a pretty modern analog time piece and it's completely clean and scuff free

And somehow a plane saw dudes in a jungle and managed to shoot one of them 🤷🏼‍♀️

Now a few mortars in guess

Banzai attack

Hand to hand combat with rubber everything including a throwing axe

Oh no the one friend got stabbed

The boxer is getting to box Japanese troops now while the priest is bayoneting everyone

Now the other friend is boxing too

Oh now he's using his head to bash in a dudes head wuuuut

Run priest run didn't get hit by very small bombs from planes that leave no craters!

Big emotional scene with the boxer friend trying to save his bestie who got stabbed

They're out of ammo so that's not good

Seven minutes left in this comedy

Now they're just walking towards the direction of the Japanese carrying some rocks

Hey it's the same 20 Thai guys again!

Oh no just joking it's the Americans who we saw in the first half of the movie at the base including one woman officer who had a flirty scene early in the night with the dude who was stabbed and a woman nurse in a perfect white dress but we saw her get shot and killed in the first half.

Lol the priest put his helmet on and that was the end

How was this movie ever green lit?!

Gotta be the worst script and writing I've seen in a long time.

The actors did their best but they were not given much to work with.

I think most of the Thai cast was having a hard time not laughing in all of their scenes.

Did the banzai assassin even show up again? Maybe he was in one of the waves of the same 20 Thai dudes that got killed over and over and I didn't notice

@godber @douglasvb Strangely, I did too. It would be kind of fun to take all of his toots in order and watch the movie and check off each toot as the scene went by.🤣

@mlanger if you go into it treating it as a comedy it's enjoyable.

@douglasvb One of the worst movies I ever saw was "Spaceballs." I know that a lot of people really liked it, including my wasband. I've come to suspect that I just didn't get it and I should probably try watching again. But I just can't bring myself to do it.

@mlanger that movie was a spoof of Star Wars and consumerism. I thought it was pretty funny and campy. Not as good as Blazing Saddles (another Mel Brooks movie) though.

@douglasvb Blazing Saddles was hysterical. I'm not sure if its widespread use of the N-word makes it acceptable these days. It certainly did not put down people of color; I think it put down people who had a problem with people of color.

I definitely remember Spaceballs being a spoof of Star Wars, but not the consumerism part. I guess I should give it another try.😬
