For users who just want instant messaging & group-chat, is it worth mentioning Delta Chat?
It leverages email, so all it needs is for the user to make an email address for it, which is an achievable goal for most people.
Obviously I accept Signal is the easiest to "sell", because it has voice/video calling, and we can just say it's the one US cabinet members use, so it's sort of a "household name".

@doboprobodyne @ip6li @cryptgoat delta chat has terrible encryption. I would never recommend it over Signal.
@derekmorr @doboprobodyne @cryptgoat AFAIK Delta-Chat is using GnuPG aka PGP for encryption. Please explain why DCs encryption is "terrible".
@ip6li @derekmorr @doboprobodyne @cryptgoat Delta is NOT using gpg but a Rust implementation of OpenPGP, https://github.com/rpgp/rpgp ... and has several security audits. https://delta.chat/en/help#security-audits .. Both #signal and #deltachat use the same ED25519 Rust crate for identity keys.
