@syntaxseed those @Jami reviews are getting out of date now. It’s improved alot over the past year. I’d recommend giving it another try. Just remember as it’s peer to peer you sometimes need a good/steady connection both ends but otherwise @delta Chatmail is excellent. For both, you can run your own service if you want.

We don't have direct calls yet, but there are voice messages and "video chat invites". We have several times received feedback from users setting up Delta Chat in similar situation, so it might fit.
