Smart people whom I respect are developing and launching “digital twins” of themselves, as if what the market needs is a deepfake version of them.
I don’t understand.
People buy from other people.
Avatars are veneer-thin shells.
People crave authenticity.
AI is fake.
@paninid @timrichards I've been wanting for 25 years to make an email bot that replies like I used to. But no more than that really.
At this stage it would be frankly a limited emulation of my younger self anyway. I had some wild conversations in that primordial version of social media.
I could probably argue with my old self — that sounds like a useful tool for people to reflect on themselves.
