My first encounters were vast fields of yellow flowers, which on closer inspection revealed blankets of dandelions. Throughout the #Dolomites, dandelions are embraced as #wildflowers. In America they are vilified, to be eradicated. But en masse they are really lovely, and mixed with other wildflowers they are just part of the scene. At one lodge, cooks were gathering young dandelion leaves for use in meals. Delicious!
