Look, I’m not saying @Mastodon’s decision, a few version prior, to stop giving you links to the actual posts was a bad and confusing one. I’m just saying the front page of MusicBrainz is currently linking to https://mastodon.social/@internetarchive@mastodon.archive.org/113283808368684203
I think if even your power users manage to get it wrong on a public announcement, it may be time to listen to the community and reconsider some of your design decisions. Don’t you think @Mastodon?
@Sylvhem Can you clarify what is the behaviour you want here? If someone in the web interface clicks on a status to see the replies & such, do you want it to redirect the user to the original instance, is this correct?
@renchap No? This would just expand it, like it always did.
But if somebody click on the timestamp of post, I think it should redirect to the original instance yes. That’s better than having an internal link.
Basically, I think the old behaviour was better. glitch-soc is still working in that way.
