@RegGuy Gah, that's a lot of taxes and an extra tax on food is so cruel... people are doing it tough out there.
@SeaFury When I saw it the first time, I decided I was going to fight to get it removed. But then I found it was used for a good purpose and it might cause more harm than good to get rid of it. Afterall most of the people paying it won't feel that 1% and the total taxes help those that really need it. Ugh. I wish it was paid another way though.
@SeaFury They are and an additional 1% added to restaurant food.
Overall it's a good state for services to those who need it, and lots of free things to do paid by the state. All the state museums are free. And the Natural History museum is first rate.

It is exceptionally stressful. One side has become so hateful it's frightening what's going to happen when their guy loses.

@SeaFury Thanks, we started mid-October and early voting ended yesterday. Election day is Tuesday.

@SeaFury We left Florida, we are pretty safe here in the city we moved to in North Carolina. Surrounded by a sea of blue.

@SeaFury The city we left in FL was the one hit by most of the tornadoes in the last storm.
In this day and age, no place is zero chance of bad weather.
@SeaFury Yes, I remember. And the terrible mudslides and flooding in western North Carolina from a tropical storm. They are 360 miles inland from the nearest coast.
