So you only need one account in the #Fediverse and with that account you can connect to all server types. I understand this only partially.
I mean, my account is registered on a #Mastodon server. I can follow #Pixelfed, #PeerTube, #Sharkey and al other types of accounts and they will show up in my feed. That in itself is brilliant.
However, what if I want to write a blog on #WriteFreely? How do I use my Mastodon account for this?
I created a seperate account on write.as. Is this unnecessary?
@NoOnesRival At its most basic, to follow and view items you just need one account (as you have now).
To create things (videos on Peertube, images on Pixelfed, etc) you need an account on that server which holds that posting/creation.
So, while you would be able to read and comment to blogs on writefreely, for example, to create a blog, you would need an account on writefreely.

Grab any fediverse post, search it on mastodon (loading it on your instance) then you can comment on it like any other post
