#Obesity seems to be the only illness where many consider it is the patient's fault.
Can those that do explain how it maps directly to areas of high poverty?

@Geri As anyone with certain inherited genetics, or any woman with PCOS can tell you, or anyone on steroids for cancer etc, obesity often isn’t the patient’s fault at all. Poverty and a high calorie, high sugar, low fibre diet go hand in hand. Streeting would do better to look at the kind of foods that are often the only affordable prospect for those on fixed or very low incomes.
@HarriettMB @Geri Dr van Tulleken was trying his absolute damndest this morning against hostile questioning from Keunssberg to say that gov intervention re the 3 large monopolistic food industries was NOT the "nanny state" and that UK has the worst record on protection of the public from unscrupulous sellers. He has done a massive countrywide investigation which will come to the screens soon I hope.
