These now to then photos are about three months apart.

November to February in our temperate UK winter climate.

The overgrowth is now being turned into compost.

An allotment plot with a dried grass mulched raspberry bed in the front, leaf mould mulch behind. Soil excavated from under the central path is mulching the beds either side. The only bought compost is the darker stuff on the right. Every other mulch material has been found for free. A orangey yellow hawthorn wood chip pathway runs down the length of the plot. Most of the no dig beds have been started now. There is a pile of shrub wood on the right with some untamed brambles behind. A boundary hedge runs down the right hand side of the plot. An old wooden shed sits at the bottom of the plot.

First impressions of an allotment plot in mid November. It’s overgrown with some raspberry canes visible amongst the grasses and brambles beyond. A hedge on the right is still in leaf as are the background trees in the distance. An old wooden shed with a dark window is just visible at the bottom end of the plot.
