They're not particularly intuitive things to use, I'll grant you that...
The odd thing was that it had changed colour, to a lighter shade of brown (it's shaped like a guinea pig.) I thought I was going mad, thinking ceramic can't fade like that, can it?
Turns out, Alfred, who'd bought me the original one, had become afraid of breaking it, so secretly pre-emptively bought another, but it came in a lighter shade, and it was that one he put out this morning,
That is some top-notch partnering, right there. Could you express our gratitude to him, for setting the bar impossibly high and making the rest of us look sub-standard?
On a side note, my son had a particular teddy, from which he was inseparable. When the kids were still kids, we took them to a number of fairly exotic places for long periods, and our greatest fear was that Teddy would get lost. So we had a replacement, of which we'd taken photos, and a ready to send email explaining that he'd got separated from us, so had made his own way home and was just waiting for us to return.
Fortunately, we never had to use it. When my son got to a certain age, we came clean and showed him the replacement. He was shocked.

The thing was, A few weeks ago, while washing up I managed to accidentally hit the egg cup really hard, with a sauce pan I think.
Fortunately I didn't damage it, but it made me quickly search for, and buy, a replacement.
Annoyingy the colour was tan and not brown but it was hard to tell from the EBay photos.
I could have just bought the black and white one instead.
I think I would have commented on a change to black and white!
@suearcher @Badgardener
But it would have been less confusing for you.
One of my favourite things is when a couple who share the same social media spaces get drawn into a forum discussion and start talking to each other *on the forum*, as though they're not just a couple of rooms away from each other!
Also, Alfred's overflowing cup of modesty here, that he's semi-apologising for the nice thing he just did.
You guys are great.
@Badgardener @suearcher
A couple of rooms?
Sue is about 1.2 metres away, on the other sofa.
I was really hoping that was the case...
It usually is!
Sometimes we'll be joining a conversation from different rooms, and sometimes it's a post from him about what he's just made/fixed that enables me to pin down which room he's actually in....
Sometimes I have to locate him by sound, and occasionally, if he's metalworking, by smell....
This feels highly familiar.
